Welcome to the Morgan Co. R-II School District!  It is an honor and privilege to serve in my hometown community as the Director of the Little Tigers Early Learning Center.  I began my career in 2000 and have served as a fifth-grade teacher, middle school special education teacher, elementary assistant principal, elementary principal, and Director of Early Learning Programs.  As the Director of Early Learning Programs, I coordinate/supervise the Little Tigers Early Learning Center and the Parents As Teachers program.  I love working with the teachers, families, and the community to provide our children with the best possible learning experiences that we can!

 At Little Tigers, it is our goal to prepare your child for kindergarten by supporting him/her in building a strong educational foundation.  We start by teaching expectations, routines and procedures, and self-regulation strategies.  We then provide students with many hands-on opportunities where they can explore, discover, build,d and create.  Hands-on experiences allow students to attach new understanding to their prior knowledge which creates a deeper understanding of new content.  We are proud of the daily earning experiences that we can offer to our students, especially our Discovery Classroom. The Discovery Classroom includes a chicken coop with live chickens, 5 classroom gardens, an outdoor exploratory classroom, and a clothesline for drying our laundry (classroom blankets).  Additionally, we partner with outside community agencies and businesses to give our students first-hand experiences with real-life learning and serving the community.  Throughout the year we visit the public library, a local farm, the movie theater, a nursing home, a mini train station, a grocery store, a park, and a fire station.  We also have some businesses and agencies that come and visit us, and we continue to look for more opportunities!

It is my goal that our students start their educational journey by building a love for learning through hands-on experiences in their “own backyard” and community!  We want our families to feel valued as educational partners and to be proud that their child attends the Morgan Co. R-II School District!  

At the Little Tigers Early Learning Center, we are preparing our littlest tigers to be tomorrow’s learners!
