Taher Food Service - Spring Survey

Engaging In Revolutionary History

Mr. Jordan Holkesvik, HS Social Studies teacher, was recently selected to participate in the Retro Report Engaging with Revolutionary History Fellowship.

This fellowship is a three-year professional development program for teachers of History, Civics and related subjects. The fellowship brings together more than 40 teachers who meet monthly in virtual seminars to research and develop classroom resources connecting the Founding period to the present. Fellows will also convene for in-person workshops. Participants are eligible to earn graduate credit through Minnesota State University, Mankato, and work with historians, scholars and partner institutions focused on History and Civics education.

Jamiann Turner - Retro Report Teacher Ambassador

Mrs. Jamiann Turner, MCR-II Instructional Coach, was recently selected to be a Teacher Ambassador for the Retro Report Teacher Ambassador program which is a network that includes more than 400 educators who share Retro Report resources within their professional communities and provide feedback based on classroom use.

Presidents' Day - No School Monday/All Offices Closed

All offices will be closed on Monday, February 16, in recognition of Presidents' Day. It is a "No School Monday."
 

Project Grad Daddy Daughter Dance - Feb. 21st

Invitation to a Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 21st, from 6-8 PM at Versailles High School Commons.
Get ready for an evening of music, memories, and fun! VHS Project Grad invites dads, grandfathers, uncles, and other special guests to escort their princesses to the annual Daddy/Daughter Dance. Join Project Grad for a memorable night on the dance floor!

Date: Saturday, February 21

Location: Versailles High School – Commons
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Cost: $25 per couple, $5 for each additional guest
(Payment accepted at the door)

Light refreshments - cookies and punch, will be provided.

Save the Date: Project Grad will also host a Mother/Son Dance on Saturday, March 7 at Versailles High School in the Commons from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Additional details will be shared soon.

1st Grade Learns About the Importance of the American Flag

First grade recently welcomed special visitors from Forty Men and Eight Horses, an independent American veterans honor society founded in 1920. Members of the local Chapter 333 from Sedalia, Missouri, visited Versailles Elementary to teach students about the importance of the American flag.

🧪Exploring Chemical Changes 🧪

In Mr. Guhr’s 8th grade science class, students are acting like real scientists!

They carefully observed the properties of substances, combined them, and recorded what happened before and after the reaction. Through this investigation, students worked to answer the question:
“Can substances change into different substances?”

Great critical thinking and scientific teamwork on display!
 

MS Physical Education Classes

Sexual Education Unit Parent Meeting & Opt Out Form

The 6th-8th grade Physical Education classes have their sexual education unit coming up next month.

Monday, March 16 at 5:30pm in the Versailles Middle School gym there will be a meeting held with the speaker from the Pregnancy Help Center. She will go over the curriculum and answer questions parents may have.

The units will be taught on the following dates:
6th Grade PE - March 17th - 18th
7th-8th PE - March 17th - 20th

An opt-out form will be sent home with students the week before. If you want to opt your child out of these units please complete the form and send to school with your student.

Coronation will take place between the JV and Varsity games, so be sure to arrive early and stay for the celebration.

State Wrestling Shirt Order Information


Orders close Feb 23rd at 8:15 am - NO LATE ORDERS ACCEPTED.

Orders will be ready for pick up on Wednesday, Feb. 24. 
 

150th Career Win for Brandon Brewer
